Nurol Makina - Tactical Wheeled Armoured Vehicles, Turret Systems and Shelters

Nurol Makina and Sanayi A.S. was established in Ankara in 1978, and it was reconfigured in 1991 in order to serve in the process of domestic production of defense systems and equipments for TAF (Turkish Armed Forces). Besides the projects that have been successfully completed in the First Industrial Zone in Ankara, it is continuing its design, development and production activities in new defense projects. Nurol Makina performs these services with its qualified and experienced personnel in its modern production plant having 17,000 m² closed area, which is established on an open area of 66,000 m².

Design, development, procurement and production activities are supported by improved technologies, resources and equipments.

Within these context opportunities, abilities and resources of Nurol Makina are as follows:

• Design and development studies of original defense products are carried out by experienced personnel by utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) ability and they are performed in accordance with demands of customers and National specifications as well as specifications of NATO
• Mechanical productions are performed by four and five axles CNC processing centers supported by CAM system and by vertical and horizontal lathes. Hard armor steels and thick metal plates are cut by laser cutting benches and these plates are shaped by using special press and molds
• Connection welding processes armor steel and aluminum alloy plates are performed by welders, who are certificated as per international standards
• Conformity of weld processes are verified by certified NDT (Non–Destructive Testing) personnel
• In order to verify conformities of products with complex structures, measurements are taken by using 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM)

Not only by using its infrastructure, equipments and resources with technical features conforming to the specified standards but also by its qualified labor force and its experiences in defense projects, Nurol Makina has performed the following projects at home and abroad and has successfully delivered them to its customers.

Nurol Makina ve Sanayi A.S. possesses the following certificates, which are required by agreements in Defense projects and certified by relevant institutions.

• AQAP-2110 Certificate of Industrial Quality Assurance Level
• Plant Security Certificate at the level of “National Secret” given by the Ministry of National Defense
• Certificate of Production Permit given by Republic of Turkey Defense Industry National Security Agency

Tactical wheeled armored vehicles

In Design and Development studies of Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicles; Thanks to the acquired experience since 1994 with to the joint development of RN – 94, Nurol Makina delivered 6x6 RN-94 Armored Wheeled Vehicles to Turkish Land Forces Command in 1998.

Nurol Makina has recently designed and manufactured a new 6x6 AWV .It is registered under name of EJDER. It is a local design and manufacturing vehicle.

EJDER 6x6 AWV represents the new EJDER family concept of Nurol Makina ve Sanayi A.S.They cover a wide range of AWV, ranging from lightweight infantry-transport to heavy fire-support. The various EJDER versions, in some certain ratio, share the same platform and thereby it provides to minimize the maintenance and simplify the logistics. It guarantees the outstanding mobility in heavy terrain, a roomy interior in its class and a sufficient payload with its increased vehicle volume and an improved drivetrain.

Nurol Makina has already the serial production line of EJDER 6x6 AWV due to the contract for export.

Armored vehicles sub–systems

Nurol has manufactured more than 3000 pieces/sets add-on armour systems, gunner and commander cupolas and NBC systems for armored combat vehicles.

25MM Dragar turret system

According to demand of TAF, Nurol has manufactured more than 500 pieces Dragar Turret Systems equipped with 25mm cannon and 7.62 mm MG–3 machine guns under the license of French origin former GIAT Industries Company. It has stabilization in 2 axles. Following the acceptance tests applied in Nurol Makina facilities, these systems are mounted on Armored Combat Vehicles.

TOMA–riot control vehicles

Nurol Makina rendered its success in designing, developing and manufacturing the special purpose riot control Vehicle (TOMA) well equipped with the state of art. Nurol Makina designed and manufactured RCVs in different configurations. So far it has manufactured many vehicles for domestic and foreign country orders and successfully delivered those vehicles. Primary users to which Nurol Makina has delivered TOMA vehicles are Turkish General Command of Gendarmerie, Turkish General Directorate of Security, Commonwealth of Independent States and some African countries.

Military shelters

Military shelters that conform to the requirements of 6516/SHCPE/86 NATO shelter technical specifications document have been designed and manufactured. All conformity and performance tests prescribed by the standards of NATO and ACE type shelters have been successfully completed. A special production line has been constructed for the manufacture of shelters.

Engineering and production services such as manufacturing, internal and external equipping of shelters including the integration of them on vehicles or trailers etc. have been given in accordance with the types and specifications set forth in relevant standards.

By various contracts different types are manufactured and delivered. Some systems were delivered to Turkish Armed Forces.
