Comrod - Military HF, VHF, UHF and GPS Antennas and Masts

Comrod is a Norwegian antenna manufacturer located at Tau, close to Stavanger. It designs, manufactures and distributes marine and military HF antennas, VHF antennas, UHF antennas, combined VHF-GPS antennas, military masts, military power supplies, and battery chargers.

MILITARY ANTENNAS

The company has built up an integrated organisation, including development, construction, production, sales and marketing of the company's own product range. The present technology and product status has been built up over a period of more than 50 years of experience.

As a result of active and commercially focused strategic planning combined with own product development, Comrod today appears as one of the world's leading producers of whip antennas. The business is based on two main market areas:

• Light military masts and antennas

Our marine and military antennas are exported to more than 40 countries worldwide Approximately 85% of the total turnover is exported.

HF ANTENNAS

Antennas are available for use on manpack radios, and vehicle-mounted and shipboard applications. Broadband tactical vee antennas for medium to long range skywave communications at fixed locations are also produced.

VHF ANTENNAS

A comprehensive product range covers all requirements for handheld manpack, vehicle, shipboard and static applications. Most antennas offer full broadband operation over the full VHF spectrum. High gain static antennas are also available.

COMBINED VHF-GPS ANTENNAS

The VHF-GPS antennas are based on our vehicle-born VHF antennas, but with a built-in military specification GPS active receiving antenna. Instead of using separate GPS and VHF communication antennas, the VHF-GPS will give you both with one base. This simplifies the installation and consequently reduces costs.

The GPS antennas will not be affected by the use of full transmitting power on VHF.

UHF ANTENNAS

Our UHF range covers monopoles and discones in the ground-air frequency spectrum, in addition to the high-gain narrow beamwidth antennas for multi-channel trunk links.

TELESCOPIC AND SECTIONAL TACTICAL MASTS

Our product range includes extensive selections from infantry manpack masts to full automated masts. These masts are designed to support light HF, VHF and UHF communication antennas, heavy EW antennas, LOS systems, cameras, and radars, providing full safety to operators as well as high pointing accuracy.

All masts sections are made of fibreglass or carbon fibre composite. LERC also designs masts according to customers' specifications.

POWER SUPPLIES AND BATTERY CHARGERS

The power division develops and manufactures power supplies and battery chargers for demanding military applications. The product line ranges from small power supplies integrated in the customer's system, to complex systems with supervision, and battery chargers for lead acid and Li-Ion batteries.

The products are designed with a focus on high EMC and EMP immunity, low noise-emission, high efficiency, ruggedness and high reliability. The standard power supplies and battery chargers have universal input voltage and power-factor correction for optimum adaptation to weak power sources (such as portable generator sets).

In addition to the standard products, the power division develops and manufactures power supplies and battery chargers according to specifications from customers. All current products utilise soft switching topologies, providing higher efficiency, lower cost and more compact products.
