Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 41,798,000 with over 1,137,000 deaths and 28,349,000 recoveries.

The US, India, and Brazil combined remains the most heavily affected country worldwide, accounting for 50% of the total confirmed cases across the world.

Cases are rising in Europe with countries in Eastern, central and Western Europe all reporting high number of daily new cases.

Africa is reporting a resurgence of new cases, but the cases are still relatively lower than in Europe and America.

Germany has reported over 10,000 daily new cases in two consecutive days.

Germany had been relatively successful in controlling the spread of infection and had a lower death toll compared to similar size neighbouring countries during the first wave.

As Germany is also struggling to control the surge in cases, this might not bode well for other European countries.
