Uplift360, a company specialising in advanced materials, has entered into a multi-year framework agreement with the Directorate of Defence (DOD) of Luxembourg to strengthen Europe’s supply of high-performance materials for defence and aerospace applications.
The partnership follows the launch of a Nato multinational project addressing critical raw materials, announced by Nato Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Nato Summit Defence Industry Forum.

The agreement will see Uplift360 focusing on producing advanced materials using only European sources. This approach is intended to decrease risks associated with geopolitical instability and supply chain interruptions.
Uplift360 is set to work as a strategic materials partner with the Luxembourg DOD, enhancing its capability to build intelligence on material and platform requirements, expand production, and develop new technologies to ensure secure supplies.
By utilising materials sourced exclusively within Europe and facilitating their swift deployment into defence and aerospace sectors, the partnership aims to support Europe’s sovereign industrial capacity at a scale matching operational needs.
The arrangement is intended to reinforce Europe’s industrial resilience at a time when policymakers see an increase in rearmament activity across the continent.
Within the framework of this eight-year partnership, Uplift360 will contribute to Luxembourg’s Defence Industrial Strategy as well as the multinational Defence Critical Raw Materials initiative endorsed at the Nato Summit Defence Investment Forum.
Uplift360 co-founder and CEO Sam Staincliffe said: “Demand for advanced materials will only continue to increase across Nato Europe. Over the next decade, we will scale advanced materials production, ensuring industry keeps pace with operational demand.”
The framework agreement forms part of Luxembourg’s broader effort to support a secure and self-sufficient defence sector as outlined in its Defence Industrial Strategy and recent commitments at the Nato Summit.
Luxembourg Defence Minister Yuriko Backes said: “Robust supply chains are the bedrock of our necessary defence industrial ramp-up. Our defence readiness depends on it.
“With this multi-year framework agreement, Luxembourg is fostering innovation, maximising resource efficiency all while contributing to our resilience and environmental protection.”
