The UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) has further advanced with its future military recruitment programme that seeks to improve the hiring process for the three branches of the armed forces.
As decided, the Armed Forces Recruiting Programme (AFRP) will start engaging suppliers as part of the initiative to develop the recruitment model.

A virtual discussion will follow this engagement exercise. The formal procurement process will be conducted later this year.
The new recruitment model is expected to facilitate hiring and help in meeting the requirement of all three services, Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
On the other hand, it will also provide a clearer route to the candidates who seek to join the armed forces.
In a statement, the MoD said: “The AFRP is in the early stages, but the MOD is committed to implementing a more efficient system that will deliver value for money across all the armed forces, who recruit more than 20,000 personnel a year.

Recently, the MoD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) launched its procurement pipeline, which will be updated every quarter.
The step was taken to help existing and potential suppliers to learn about DIO’s future requirements and accordingly plan their activities.
Last month, UK defence secretary Ben Wallace said that the future of the UK’s Armed Forces will be focused on ‘speed, readiness and resilience’.
