Patria has completed its obligation to deliver 10 AMV XP 8×8 armoured ambulance vehicles to Slovakia, fulfilling a segment of the government-to-government defence contract agreed in 2022.
The last vehicles were handed over last week in Lieskovec, Slovakia, the company stated in a 4 June release.

Under the terms of the agreement, struck between the Slovak and Finnish governments and Patria, Slovakia is receiving a total of 76 armoured combat vehicles.
The contract, part of Slovakia’s BOV 8×8 programme, includes 60 infantry fighting vehicles, 10 ambulance variants, and six command post vehicles.
The deal also includes transfer of armoured vehicle manufacturing expertise to local partners.
According to the company, this approach is intended to support Slovakia’s security of supply and industrial capacity.
Patria protected mobility business area executive vice president Jussi Järvinen said: “The completion of these ambulance vehicle deliveries is an important milestone in this cooperation.
“The programme supports the development of modern mobility and defence capabilities while also advancing technology transfer and know-how to Slovakia, strengthening local industrial capability, security of supply and long-term readiness.”
The Patria AMV XP 8×8 is a modular armoured wheeled vehicle designed to provide firepower, protection, and mobility.
The vehicle measures 8.1 metres (m) in length, 2.8m in width, and 2.4m in height, with a combat weight of 32,000kg and a payload capacity of 15,000kg.
According to the company, the AMV XP 8×8 features a modular design and is equipped with an inline six-cylinder engine producing 450kW of power and 2,250nm of torque.
The vehicle supports integration with a variety of weapon systems, including 120mm direct-fire cannon systems, medium-calibre weapons, the Patria Nemo 120mm turreted mortar, as well as anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile systems.
For protection, the AMV XP 8×8 can be equipped with measures against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) threats.
The vehicle also offers ballistic protection up to level K5+ and mine protection at or above STANAG level 4a/4b.
