Sikorsky Aircraft has received a contract modification valued at $56.8m for advanced procurement funding towards UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters for the US Army.
The adjustment, identified as modification P00002 to contract W58RGZ-26-C-0008, brings the total value of the agreement to $121.8m.

Work is scheduled to take place in Stratford and is expected to be completed by 31 December 2027. The funding, from the fiscal year 2025 Army aircraft procurement budget, was fully obligated at the time of the award.
The Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is overseeing the contracting activity.
Based in Stratford, Connecticut, Sikorsky is a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin.
The UH-60 Black Hawk, manufactured by Sikorsky, serves as a medium-lift utility helicopter.
The aircraft is equipped with twin engines, a cabin that can be reconfigured, and a maximum cargo capacity of 9,000lbs. Its design allows for a variety of uses, including troop transport, supply delivery, and search and rescue missions under challenging conditions.
The Black Hawk has been in service with the US Army since 1978, and multiple international customers have acquired, or placed orders for, different variants.
In addition to its primary role as a troop carrier and logistical support platform, the helicopter can be adapted for medical evacuation, command-and-control, search-and-rescue, armed escort, electronic warfare, and executive transport operations.
Earlier this month, the Portuguese Army ordered three UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters as part of its effort to update its rotary fleet under the Support, Protection and Evacuation Helicopters (HAPE) project.
According to the Portuguese Army, this contract will enhance strategic capability and increase operational readiness.
Last month, Sikorsky was also awarded a $10.2m contract for non-recurring engineering and retrofit work for APX-123A Mode 5 capability, funded through US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Saudi Arabia, with completion expected by the end of 2030.
Separately, US authorities approved a potential FMS to Austria in June 2026 for 12 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, an estimated $1.5bn deal also including equipment, support, and training.
