Norway’s Senop and Nammo Raufoss have developed a thermal weapon sight intended to work with a broad range of firearms.
The new device, the Senop OSKAR Thermal Weapon Sight (OSKAR TWS), is set to be compatible with Nammo’s M72 shoulder-fired systems and other weapons such as assault rifles and machine guns.

OSKAR TWS includes an attachable laser range finder, which can connect to the sight wirelessly or via cable, enabling users to measure distances quickly.
According to Senop, this feature, along with a built-in ballistic computer, is intended to support more accurate target engagement.
The sight also features a quick-release mechanism for mounting and removal without boresighting, which the companies state will make it suitable for operational environments where speed is essential.
In addition, OSKAR TWS is compatible with iron and red-dot sights, and includes a fixed 2x optical magnification and digital zoom.
Senop, which is part of defence firm Patria Group, states these functions are aimed at increasing the effective engagement range for soldiers.
Senop product management director Antti Lommi said: “The compatibility with iron and red-dot sights and OSKARs fixed 2x optical magnification and digital zoom really help to widen the range where you can effectively fire.
“With a user friendly mounting bracket that requires no boresighting, the sight can be attached or detached quickly, and its fast release design ensures rapid separation from the weapon after discharge”.
The OSKAR TWS will make its public debut at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition in Paris, where it will be presented at Senop’s and Nammo’s respective stands alongside the M72.
The formal product announcement is scheduled for 16 June 2026 as part of Nammo’s reception during the event.
