Spanish engineering company Sener has secured a contract from RTX business Raytheon to support the production of the Guidance Enhanced Missile (GEM-T), a Patriot missile variant, in Europe.
This move aligns with the recent GEM-T contract awarded by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) potentially involving up to 1,000 missiles for a coalition of European nations.
These nations include Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and Spain.
Raytheon Global Patriot vice-president Pete Bata said: “Sener will play a critical role in supporting our expansion of GEM-T missile production capacity in Europe.
“Together with our broad – and growing – network of suppliers in the region, we are moving forward to increase this critical air defence missile inventory in support of NATO and our European Patriot allies.”
Sener will collaborate with engineering experts from Raytheon to jointly develop the critical GEM-T missile control section component.
