Oshkosh Defense said international interest in the FMTV A2 is growing, with defence forces seeking vehicles capable of adapting to changing operational contexts.

The company did not specify the delivery schedule for the latest orders.

Oshkosh Defense chief programmes officer Pat Williams said: “The continued demand for the FMTV A2, both in the US and internationally, reflects the platform’s ability to perform across a wide range of missions and environments.”

According to information available from the company’s website, the FMTV A2 Van 4×4 includes a van box with a total volume of 1,641ft³, along with one door on each side, power service, lighting, and full heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) capabilities.

The 2.5-ton Cargo Van configuration supports a payload of 2,267kg, with an interior volume of 598ft³ and an interior floor area of 90ft², and also comes equipped with both cooling and heating systems.

In addition to these van models, the contracts also cover the FMTV A2 Wrecker 6×6, which is capable of towing up to 32 tons.

The integrated crane on the wrecker allows for a maximum lift capacity of 6,441kg and an outreach of 17.9ft.

The wrecker is further equipped with winches that can handle a load of 13,607kg per side and is rated to tow up to 29,483kg.

Earlier this year, Oshkosh Defense received a separate contract from the US Army to provide 97 additional FMTV A2 Low-Velocity Airdrop (LVAD) cargo trucks in both 6×6 and 4×4 formats.
