Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud has been chosen by the US Department of Defense (DoD) to support its enterprise human resource (HR) portfolio.
The contract will help transform the DoD’s HR operations for 900,000 civilian employees and comes after Oracle Cloud Applications achieved Impact Level 4 (IL4) Provisional Authorization.
The authorisation was granted by the DoD and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
The IL4 allows Oracle to provide its software-as-a-service (SaaS) Cloud suite to more agencies within the DoD.
As a result, the agencies will be able to leverage the integrated suite of applications for HR, finance, customer experience and supply chain.
Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) director Michael Sorrento said: “The award modernises its existing civilian personnel business process functions to enable improved streamlined approaches in support of the workforce.
“The DoD’s Defense Manpower Data Center is leading the implementation of the HCM Cloud, which replaces numerous legacy systems and is targeted for full deployment in mid-2020.”
Oracle Cloud Applications provides mission-critical performance, scalability, security, and integration capabilities to help government agencies navigate workflows.
Oracle Public Sector senior vice-president Mark Johnson said: “For US Federal and Department of Defense customers, they need best in class, agile, and secure software to run their operations, and we can deliver that.
“With built-in support for Impact Level 4, the DoD community can now take advantage of Oracle Cloud Applications to break down silos, quickly and easily embrace the latest innovations, and improve user engagement, collaboration, and performance.”
