The US Army has placed new orders with TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) to continue to provide satellite communications equipment, engineering support, training and maintenance.
TCS government solutions senior vice-president and general manager Michael Bristol said, "the company is uniquely positioned to support warfighters with the systems they need in the field, as well as with the hands-on support required to train users and maintain these systems."

The company will provide deployable highly secure communications solutions and complete end-to-end managed services for converged (IP-based) voice, video and data solutions to ensure mission continuity.
The new order includes an initial funding of $5m with total funding to be valued at $16.1m, if the options are fully exercised through July 2012.
The funding is through the US Army’s $5bn worldwide satellite systems (WWSS) contract vehicle, which has been extended to 27 July 2012.
