Saab has received an order to supply its new AT4 family of weapons to an undisclosed customer for use against threats faced on the battlefield.

The AT4 weapons to be delivered are the new confined space extended range (CS ER) and the confined space high penetration (CS HP) systems.

Saab Ground Combat head Torbjörn Saxmo said: “We have seen a great interest for our new family of AT4 weapons and this order is a strong proof of the trust our customers place in us as a supplier of world-leading weapon systems.

“The AT4CS ER and AT4 CS HP will give the user a modern capability to handle the threats facing them on the battlefield today and tomorrow.”

The AT4 family of weapons are lightweight, man-portable and fully disposable, according to the statement.

These easy-to-use weapons do not require expert gunners to operate the weapon effectively and can be employed to protect fixed installations, supply points and other vital assets.

The AT4 is said to be used for combating tanks and heavy combat vehicles, as well as threats in buildings and fortifications.
