Lithuania has purchased AXMC sniper rifles from UK-based Accuracy International, which will be distributed among battalions and training facilities of the Lithuanian Land Forces.
The rifles have been acquired for €1.3m and will be approved by other Nato allies by the end of the year.
These weapons are capable of using munitions of two different calibres, 338 Lapua Magnum or 308 Win.
So far, the Lithuanian Land Force has used FN SCAR-H PR semi-automatic precision rifles.
Lithuanian Land Force Juozas Lukša Warfare Training Centre sniper and precision rifles expert master sergeant Ernestas Kuckailis said: “Accuracy International of the UK cherishes old traditions of weapon making and is respected worldwide.
“The weapons it manufactures are of high-quality and reliability in any conditions, including Arctic or desert.
