Russia has delivered a set of Avtobaza truck-mounted Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) and jamming systems to Iran, Military and Technical Cooperation Agency deputy director Konstantin Biryulin confirmed.
RIA Novosti has reported Biryulin as saying that the delivery does not breach UN sanctions imposed on Iran.
The Avtobaza ELINT system is designed to detect airborne side-looking radars, air-to-ground fire-control radars and low-altitude flight control radars, and jam aerial targets.
The system can also be used to gather intelligence data for the 1L125M APUR using intercepting radio communications and direction finding.
The details regarding the number of radar units and the date of delivery were not disclosed.
