Rolls-Royce has been awarded a US Army contract to build over 40 engines for the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior armed reconnaissance helicopter.
The US Department of Defense awarded the $19.2m contract after receiving only one bid.

The OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter is capable of performing scout and light-attack missions in support of ground troops.
Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Indiana, US, and is expected to be completed by 31 December 2012.
