Elbit Systems will supply command, control, computer and communications (C4I), and electronic warfare (EW) systems to an unnamed Latin American army under a $130m contract.

Under the contract, the company will supply a new integrated communications network that will provide a real-time common operational picture of the battlefield.

The firm will also provide ground forces with improved operational performance and situational awareness, as well as improved force protection and the prevention of friendly fire.

The three-year contract is part of the army’s extensive modernisation programme, aimed at upgrading the battlefield systems from the front-line troops to the command headquarters.
