Sikorsky Aerospace Services has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ZF Aviation Technology (ZFL) to deliver improved technical support to the German armed forces and introduce the Cyclone multimission helicopter to Germany.

Both companies will explore, identify and discuss projects and collaborative efforts related to the improved spare parts delivery and technical support for the German armed forces.

Sikorsky European sales vice-president Joseph Gigantelli said the opportunities for participation with German industry could see the Cyclone helicopter also being used by the German Air Force and Navy.

The Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone is a twin-engine helicopter that provides multimission capabilities including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and search and rescue.

Cyclone is a derivative of the S-92 helicopter, which gets its basic design from the combat-proven rugged and durable Black Hawk helicopter.
