Saudi Arabia will receive 2742 BGM-71E-4B-RF tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire-guided (TOW-2A) radio frequency missiles under a $177m foreign military sale from the US.
The proposed sale would also include the provision of missile-related parts, equipment, training and logistical support for the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) modernisation programme.
Saudi Arabia will use the missiles and equipment to fight regional threats from enemy armoured vehicles and to strengthen its homeland defence.
The TOW-2A is a combat proven direct attack missile designed to defeat explosive reactive armour, bunkers, fortifications and amphibious landing craft.
Raytheon Corporation will be the prime contractor to supply the proposed military equipment.
