The US Army has received 1,000 Plason armour kits for the mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) all-terrain vehicles (M-ATV) for use in Afghanistan.

M-ATV manufacturer Oshkosh Corporation will equip the armour parts and components sent by Plasan as part of its contract for 5,219 M-ATVs.

The Oshkosh M-ATV incorporates rugged, durable, patented components and systems for maximum warfighter mobility and survivability.

Based on the medium tactical vehicle replacement platform, the Oshkosh M-ATV includes the TAK-4 independent suspension system for improved manoeuvrability, ride quality and off-road mobility.
