The US Army is set to deploy the PowerFleet and AVRamp wireless vehicle management technologies produced by wireless solutions company ID Systems.

Powerfleet is a patented system specifically designed for tracking and managing all industrial vehicles including military trucks.

The system's functionality modules include driver ID, electronic forklift safety checklists, impact sensing, real-time vehicle location tracking, vehicle health data collection, automated on-vehicle and system-wide alerts, and other safety management tools.

AVRamp is an airport-proven vehicle management system especially designed to control track and manage aiport ground support equipment and other airport operations vehicles.

Both the systems feature a vehicle asset communicator, installed on the vehicle, which is the primary communication tool between the driver, the vehicle and management.

The company recently demonstrated the PowerFleet technology at Sierra Army Depot, under a project termed the centralised fleet automated management system (CFAMS).

Pendulum Services, a veteran-owned small business has signed a teaming agreement with ID Systems to supply the vehicle management systems to US Army.
