Helisim Eurocopter Training Services, a consortium of Eurocopter, Thales Services and Defence Council International (DCI) has officially launched the NH90 full flight mission simulator.
The NH90 is a medium-sized, twin-engine, multi-role military helicopter, which will be used to train the pilots of the Australian Army and French defence air corps at the Helisim facility in Marignane, southern France.

Helisim’s NH90 Full Flight simulator is equipped with the latest generation visual database, featuring satellite imagery with an outstanding resolution of 12.5cm in urban areas and 50cm in mountain areas.
It is capable of simulating all types of environments, weather conditions, special effects and battlefield threats via the use of computer-generated forces.
The simulator offers training in all weather and at night using night vision goggles or with special helmets fitted with head-up displays essential for night flight training.

The database of visual images, developed for the NH90 will also be used on the Super Puma L1 and L2 utility helicopters as well as the EC225 passenger transport helicopter simulators in 2010.
