The US Army has awarded a $9.2m contract to General Dynamics Information Technology to support its Medical Command (MEDCOM) Lean Six Sigma Concepts and Methodologies programme.

Under the agreement, General Dynamics Information will provide instruction and consulting services to internal organisations of MEDCOM’s director of strategy and innovation and office of the surgeon general.

General Dynamics Information vice-president and general manager Ken Hess said that the company will lend organisational capabilities, traditionally used with supply chain management, to MEDCOM to achieve sustained results and mission success by promoting, sustaining and enhancing soldier health.

The contract is for three years.
