The US Army has awarded a $37m contract to QSS Group, a subsidiary of information technology company Perot Systems, to provide IT infrastructure and support services to the Fort Monmouth installation in New Jersey.
Under the three-year contract the company leads a team that includes Harris IT Services and General Dynamics Information Technology to supply infrastructure and services.
Fort Monmouth has been the development site for several of the C4ISR systems being used in Iraq and Afghanistan and for homeland defence in the US.
C4ISR systems provide the architectural framework and systems engineering to ensure joint interoperability and the integration of US troops across the battle space.
The team has provided IT infrastructure and consolidation support services to Fort Monmouth for two-and-a-half years to change over the army base to a single Directorate of Information Management which provides information management services to the Army facility.
