The US Army has awarded a $36m contract to Raytheon to provide Patriot configuration-3 radar upgrade depot test equipment, and training and related technical services to Kuwait.

The contract complements the previously awarded $148m order to upgrade Kuwait’s Patriot system to configuration-3.

Raytheon Integrated Defence Systems Patriot programme vice president Sanjay Kapoor said that the depot equipment will provide an imperative aspect for Kuwait to maintain continuous integrated air and missile defence system readiness.

The work will be carried out at the company’s facilities located in Massachusetts, Andover, Sudbury and Rhode Island.
