The US Army has awarded a task order to Telos Corporation to provide wireless data capabilities to enable access to network resources.

The secure solution will be engineered, furnished and installed as part of the Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) wireless edge extension at Ft Irwin, California.

Telos’ programme manager Winston Payne said that the secure solution will enable the Army to reach back to network resources from remote locations like motor pool maintenance, deployment and training areas.

The order was awarded through the Air Force Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle and will be managed by the office of Project Manager Network Service Centre, Product Manager Defence Communications Systems-CONUS (PM NSC PdM DCS-C).

Telos expects to complete the project by summer 2009 at the post located in the Mojave Desert, housing the National Training Centre.
