BAE Systems has won a US$128.6m contract from the US Defense Logistics Agency to produce Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment (MOLLE) systems.

BAE Systems will produce the MOLLE systems for use by the US Army as their primary load-carrying equipment.

The 37-component MOLLE system, each comprised of vests, pockets, backpacks and hydration load-carrying capabilities, is a vital asset for successful military operations.

If all options are exercised, the contract could be extended by two years bringing the total value to $374m, BAE said.
