The US Army TACOM life-cycle management command has awarded BAE Systems a $91.4m contract modification to reset M113 family of vehicles.

The additional work on up to 1,074 vehicles brings the total value of the contract, first awarded in mid-2007 to $110.1m.

The vehicles, will be brought back to combat-ready condition and will gain add-on armour and nuclear, biological and chemical protective equipment.

The work is expected to be complete by December 2008.
