Israel has deployed ESC BAZ's AVIV short-to-medium range surveillance system across key sites for the protection of its critical assets.

The AVIV system is a modular platform that includes a CCD day camera, a thermal imager for night vision and a zoom controlled spotlight, which are installed on a motorised SMART pan-tilt unit.

The system, integrated with an advanced detection fence, provides uninterrupted surveillance for critical assets such as airports, harbours, power and chemical plants, oil refineries, prisons and borders.

The system's sensors pedestal is immediately slewed to the detection area as soon as an intrusion is detected by the fence, which automatically zooms and focuses the cameras to capture a live video of the intrusion.

The head security officer said that the system can also be used for strategic facilities protection, border protection and anti-terrorism.
