The Canadian Armed Forces have contracted Harris to deliver Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radios and RF-7800B tactical satellite communication systems.

Harris RF Communications international business unit president Andy Start said that the AN/PRC-117G and RF-7800B will provide Canada's military with new communications capabilities that will lead to enhanced command and control and situational awareness.

Under the $4.7m order, Harris will deliver both the AN/PRC-117G wideband radio system and RF-7800B broadband global area networking (BGAN) satellite terminals.

The AN/PRC-117G integration with the Harris RF-7800B terminals will provide Canadian personnel with end-to-end, Type-1 secure beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) wideband communications connectivity.
