BAE Systems has been awarded a contract to provide IT services and technical support for US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) under the multiple-award Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC).
The indefinite-delivery / indefinite-quantity contract has an estimated value of $65m and task orders under the contract will be pursued by six other companies along with BAE.
Under the contract, the company will work on areas that include applications maintenance and development, planning and engineering and management and information assurance.
The company will also be responsible for the transition of application management services from the incumbent service provider, and provide ongoing support throughout the life of the SITEC agreement.
The IT support will help USSOCOM to achieve an increase in mission operations support and control, establish transparency and accountability, innovation and communication, drive cost optimisation and enable net centricity.
