Boeing has received a $274m firm-fixed-price contract from Lockheed Martin to produce 300 Patriot advanced capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seekers.

The contract is the ninth consecutive PAC-3 seeker production awarded to Boeing by Lockheed, the prime contractor, in support of the US Army Lower Tier Project Office.

The PAC-3 missile is a high-velocity, hit-to-kill missile of the Patriot family of missiles and provides increased capability against advanced tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and other airborne threats.

The highly accurate Boeing seeker helps the missile detect and track the target during the terminal phase of the engagement.

The battle-proven PAC-3 missile system provides unmatched in-theatre defence to US military and its allies.
