Force Protection Industries and CAE have teamed up to compete for Canada’s tactical armoured patrol vehicle (TAPV) project.

According to the agreement, Force Protection will offer Cougar wheeled combat vehicles variants to meet Canadian forces’ TAPV requirements.

CAE would provide in-service support (ISS) solutions including vehicle operator and mission training systems, engineering information environment, fleet management services, and systems engineering support as well as lifecycle and integrated logistics support services.

Force Protection was selected as a competitor company to compete for the Canadian contract, which includes providing up to 600 wheeled combat vehicles and related long-term support services.

The contract is expected to be awarded to the final selected bidder by early 2012.
