Pall Corporation has been awarded a contract by the US Army to supply its Centrisep engine advanced protection system (EAPS) for 59 Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopters.

The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is used by the US Army to transport troops, artillery, ammunition, fuel, water, supplies and equipment on the battlefield.

The helicopter is also used to perform disaster relief, medical evacuations, fire fighting, parachute drops, and search and rescue missions.

Pall’s Centrisep EAPS is designed to protect CH-47 helicopter engines by preventing airborne contamination when operating in harsh desert environments.

The $14m shipments will begin in December 2011 and will be completed by November 2012.
