Boeing has begun delivering Brigade Combat Team Modernisation (BCTM) Increment 1 hardware to the US Army.

The hardware includes Network Integration Kit-equipped Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles and Humvees, Unattended Ground Sensors and Unmanned Ground Vehicles.

BCTM Increment 1 capabilities will provide soldiers with enhanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, as well as increased survivability and lethality.

The deliveries are part of the low-rate initial production contract signed in February and will continue through the second quarter of 2011.

The US Army will conduct additional verification testing prior to the capabilities’ Initial Operational Test and Evaluation in 2011 and will be deployed to Afghanistan in 2012.
