The US Department of War (DoW) has awarded a contract to Kymeta for the supply of over 100 Osprey u8 satellite terminals.
The $20m order also includes provision of multi-orbit connectivity on Kymeta’s global broadband (KBB) network.

According to Kymeta, the latest order comprises Osprey u8 terminals capable of operating across both Geostationary and Low Earth Orbit (GEO/LEO) networks.
The terminals are designed to switch seamlessly between encrypted (TRANSEC) and standard networks, supporting secure communications for military users.
This procurement builds on a series of recent multi-million-dollar contracts Kymeta has secured with various US Government agencies.
The company stated it has delivered over $30m in terminals and connectivity services to this DoW branch in 2026 alone. Identity of the branch has not been disclosed due to security restrictions.
Kymeta’s SATCOM solutions contribute to the US military’s Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency (PACE) communications approach, providing flexible and resilient options intended to maintain communications in challenging and contested environments.
With this contract, Kymeta noted it is moving toward “AutoPACE”, which automates the process of switching between connectivity sources to further streamline operational continuity.
Kymeta CEO Manny Mora said: “This order is an affirmation from the military community that Kymeta can deliver on its promise to provide dependable connectivity for mission-critical operations.

Kymeta’s Osprey u8 terminals are encased in a rugged, low size, weight, and power (SWaP) configuration. The company stated the equipment is “battle-tested and proven” for sustained performance under demanding operational conditions.
The new order, along with previous contracts, highlights the growing demand for resilient, multi-orbit SATCOM systems among US defence customers.
