General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has secured a task order amounting to $580m to improve security and readiness of US Army bases.
Awarded in May 2025, the Integrated Base Defense Sustainment Support task order comes with an one-year base performance period and can be extended with four option years.
GDIT’s role under this agreement will be to maintain force protection systems such as radars, cameras, and sensors that are deployed worldwide, even in remote and high-risk areas.
These systems protect military bases, personnel, and infrastructure against threats like unauthorised entries, surveillance activities, drone interference, and cybersecurity breaches.
GDIT’s responsibility is to ensure these systems are always operational and ready for any mission.
The company will use its Cove AI Ops Digital Accelerator, which is expected to enhance logistics support while making processes more efficient and cost effective.
