EuroTrophy has partnered with Finnish defence and technology company Patria to integrate the Trophy Active Protection System (APS) onto the latter’s AMV XP 8×8 vehicle to enhance its defensive capabilities.
The first demonstrator of this armoured fighting vehicle was presented in March 2025 at Patria’s Arctic Events in Lapland, Finland.
The Trophy APS is a hard-kill active protection system designed for armoured vehicles, offering advanced capabilities essential for modern military engagements. This system is fully developed, in active service worldwide, and currently deployed by several Nato member nations.
With the addition of Trophy APS, the vehicle will offer enhanced protection against anti-tank guided missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, drones, and other anti-tank weapons.
EuroTrophy said the Trophy APS integration enhances defensive measures but also adds a Fire Source Location feature. This function allows the Trophy’s sensors to detect incoming hostile fire, pinpointing the origin in terms of direction and distance, and relay this information to the vehicle’s crew.
With this intelligence, the crew can respond with the vehicle’s armaments or communicate the adversary’s position to allied forces through a Battle Management System, enabling coordinated counterattacks.

By GlobalDataEuroTrophy says this integration of the AMV XP with the Trophy system presents a proven and operational solution to potential clients, as both systems are already in use within Nato forces.
Furthermore, this integration equips forces with new capabilities to address current and future challenges specific to Arctic environments.
The Patria AMV XP 8×8 is a modern, modular armoured wheeled vehicle, designed to deliver enhanced firepower, protection, and mobility. It is engineered to serve multiple roles on the battlefield.
The vehicle features a fully digitalised data and control system, ensuring seamless integration of its various functions and systems.
It has been chosen for procurement projects in both Slovakia and Japan.
In February 2025, Slovenia and Finland signed aletter of intent to support the procurement of 8×8 AMV. As per the agreement, Slovenia will receive support from Finland for the procurement of Patria 8×8 armoured vehicles.
