GTACS II will support network modernisation and deliver improved, cyber hardened capabilities to support all branches of the US Department of Defense (DoD).

It provides a competitive contracting mechanism to enable the procurement of new technology and services across the DoD.

GTACS II also covers information technology (IT) services and hardware to support the tactical communications network development for soldiers.

Envistacom president Alan Carson said: “We are honoured to be selected to prime this task order and eager to continue our support of the US Army and other DoD military branches by providing deployed warfighters with the technical services required to maintain critical communications, which furthers our shared mission of making the world a safer place.

Under the FSR support, Envistacom will provide on-site technical services for tactical and strategic satellite communications systems, satellite terminals, as well as administration-related services including information assurance and cybersecurity.
