AEVEX Aerospace has secured a $41m contract to supply one-way attack uncrewed aerial systems to US Government customers.
In its 20 August release, the company did not disclose the government agency and details regarding the particular drone systems or delivery timelines.

However, the company said that the award underscores continued demand for its uncrewed mission capabilities and strengthens its involvement in priority US defence operations.
In October last year, the company secured a contract to supply its Atlas Precision Strike System to the US Army as the first platform fielded under the Launched Effects–Short Range (LE-SR) programme.
AEVEX CEO Roger Wells said: “Our customers rely on AEVEX to provide precision‑driven systems that can be fielded rapidly and perform reliably in complex operational conditions.

AEVEX’S portfolio of one-way attack, or loitering munitions, stems from its involvement in the Phoenix Ghost programme, initially accelerated by the US Air Force to supply drones to Ukraine in April 2022.
The Phoenix Ghost initiative comprised multiple drone types, developed to meet varying mission and performance requirements.
One of the largest systems in this family is the Disruptor, which is categorised as a Group III drone.
According to the company, the Disruptor is designed for a range of missions extending from intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) to precision-effect operations.
The aircraft is reported to provide over 14 hours of endurance, a range of up to 1,400km, and a payload capacity of up to 22.6kg, including both fragmentary and penetrator munitions or optional ISR equipment.
AEVEX, based in Solana Beach, California, designs, manufactures, and provides support for autonomous systems and mission technologies intended for use in contested environments.
The company is increasing investment in production capacity, advancements in autonomous capabilities, and operationally focused design to address the needs of the Department of War and international partners.
