Middle East & Africa witnessed a 0.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the aerospace, defence & security industry in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

October 2021 has seen an increase of 9.45% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 6.61% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering a decrease of 1.67% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 28.95% in October 2021, a 266.67% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 26.32% in October 2021, marking a 400% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 26.32% in October 2021, a 28.57% drop from September 2021.

Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 15.79% in October 2021, a 14.29% decline over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 59.09% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2021 over previous month.

Elbit Systems posted 14 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 180% over the previous month, followed by Vectrus with 12 jobs and a 9.09% growth. Raytheon Technologies with 4 IT jobs and Thales with 3 jobs, recorded a 300% rise and a 40% drop, respectively, while The Boeing recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s aerospace, defence & security industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 39.47% share in October 2021, a 200% increase over September 2021. Kuwait featured next with a 21.05% share, down 27.27% over the previous month. Qatar recorded an 18.42% share, a growth of 75% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.53%, up by 15% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.68% share, registered a growth of 125% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15.79% share, up 50% over September 2021.
