US-based company Lockheed Martin’s IT hiring rose 2.4% in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.58% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 36.42% share in the company’s total hiring activity in December 2021, and recorded a 0.82% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Lockheed Martin IT hiring in December 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Lockheed Martin, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 45.73% in December 2021, and a 58.16% drop over November 2021, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 27.39% in December 2021, and registered a decline of 49.3%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16.58% in December 2021, a 47.2% drop from November 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Lockheed Martin

North America emerged as the leading region in the global aerospace, defence & security IT hiring activity in December 2021 with a 95.48% share, which marked a 55.08% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 3.77%, registering an 87.5% month-on-month growth. South & Central America was the third leading region with a 0.75% share and a 62.5% drop over November 2021.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 95.48% share in December 2021, a 55.08% decline over November 2021. Australia featured next with a 3.77% share, up 87.5% over the previous month. Puerto Rico recorded a 0.75% share, a decline of 62.5% compared with November 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Lockheed Martin IT hiring activity in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.53%, down by 53.13% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 30.9% share, a decline of 53.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.81% share, down 58.41% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.75%, recording a month-on-month decline of 40%.
