Europe witnessed a 4.8% rise in IT hiring activity in the auto industry in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
October 2021 has seen an increase of 2.35% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 15.2% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 1.2% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 69.47% in October 2021, a 7.25% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.59% in October 2021, marking a 25.66% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.47% in October 2021, a 20.91% rise from September 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 3.56% in October 2021, a 5.66% decline over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 11.39% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s auto industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Robert Bosch posted 617 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 5.83% over the previous month, followed by AB Volvo with 95 jobs and a flat growth. Bayerische Motoren Werke with 78 IT jobs and Daimler with 67 jobs, recorded a 73.33% rise and a 13.56% rise, respectively, while ZF Friedrichshafen recorded a 44.19% increase with 62 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s auto industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 45.77% share in October 2021, a 20.86% increase over September 2021. Romania featured next with an 8.26% share, up 2.65% over the previous month. Poland recorded a 7.9% share, a growth of 37.04% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.88%, up by 7.56% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 13.67% share, registered a growth of 14.97% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.38% share, up 32.39% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.07%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
