Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 42%, emerged as the top advanced materials-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter. Production Occupations came in second with a share of 11% in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 5% over the previous quarter.

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Northrop Grumman, RTX, General Atomics, Boeing, and Textron. Together they accounted for a combined share of 52% of all advanced materials-related new jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.
Northrop Grumman posted 55 advanced materials-related new jobs in Q4 2023, RTX 51 jobs, General Atomics 37 jobs, Boeing 35 jobs, and Textron 33 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 75.19% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023
The largest share of advanced materials-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 75.19% followed by the UK (5.71%) and India (4.47%). The share represented by the US was four percentage points lower than the 79.00% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
