Barrett Communications has announced the appointment of Andrew Burt as the company’s new chief executive officer.

Andrew has been with Barrett Communications for 22 years, most recently holding the position of general manager in the company’s European and America’s office.

Barrett Communications chairman Phillip Bradshaw commented: “Andrew’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Barrett Communications.”

“Over the last 12 months we have released product innovations that are significant within the HF market and at the same time we are seeing increased growth in our key market sectors. We are confident Andrew’s appointment will bring a new enthusiasm to our business.”

Barrett has also announced that it will support wildlife management in Tanzania having recently been awarded a contract to supply the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) with HF radio communications for their national parks and conservation areas.

The TAWA manages 169,553km2 comprising of game reserves, game controlled areas and open areas across Tanzania. The multiphase project was funded by USAID and included the Barrett 2050 HF base stations and Barrett 2090 HF portable manpacks.
