This collaboration will bring together Thales’ air defence systems, including the SAMP/T NG platform, with Systematic’s expertise in command-and-control (C2) software.

In a joint statement, the companies said this integration is expected to improve coordination between existing and future Danish air defence systems, with a focus on supporting the country’s Air C2 and Surface-Based Air Missile Defence (SBAMD) requirements.

The partnership is intended to enhance local industrial capabilities, contributing to long-term economic opportunities and potential future exports.

In addition, the alliance highlights an increasing emphasis on European industrial cooperation to provide sovereign defence solutions that address both national and allied needs.

Thales’ integrated airspace protection systems general manager, Raphaël Desi, stated: “Our collaboration with Systematic ensures that Denmark benefits from a sovereign, interoperable system that leverages the best of European innovation.

“This agreement is a testament to Thales’ ability to align strategic programmes like SBAMD with local industrial strengths, creating a model for future defence cooperation.”

Both Thales and Systematic stated they will work closely with the Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) to deliver an integrated air defence solution capable of supporting Denmark’s defence priorities and furthering interoperability with Nato allies.

Systematic business development vice president Klaus Qvist said: “This partnership is an important step to strengthen Denmark’s air defence capabilities with trusted European technology, while building on the strong industrial capabilities we have developed here in Denmark.”

The alliance follows Systematic’s continued expansion in the defence technology sector. In June, the Australian Department of Defence selected the company for a A$98m ($69.76m) contract to provide its SitaWare Headquarters command-and-control solution as part of Australia’s new Battle Management System rollout.
