Everforth ECS, part of Everforth, has secured a contract worth $115m to support the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Army Research Laboratory (ARL) on the Nautilus for AI Research and Development programme.
The three-year contract calls for Everforth ECS to act as the prime contractor, assisting the Department of War (DoW) in accelerating the development, testing, and operational integration of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Under the award, Everforth ECS will work on research, development, testing, and evaluation activities focused on trusted AI for Army applications. This will include methods to improve the transition of AI and related research capabilities from laboratory settings into operational environments.
Emphasis will be placed on approaches that allow for deployment of AI in contested, bandwidth- and compute-constrained situations, reflecting current operational requirements of the US Army.
As part of the scope, Everforth ECS will apply its capabilities in AI development, software engineering, secure systems integration, test and evaluation, and cybersecurity. The objective is to identify repeatable and scalable frameworks for moving AI technologies into mission use and to ensure these technologies meet security and mission assurance standards.
The company’s responsibilities involve developing, testing, and integrating AI. It will also support the evaluation of how these technologies can be most effectively operationalised and transitioned from experimentation to readiness for deployment.

The Nautilus programme is intended to help define how the DoW adopts and applies AI at scale.
According to the company, supporting the programme will expand its involvement in US defence AI research and strengthen its work in providing secure, scalable AI solutions for integration into Army operations.
The company will assist federal customers in evaluating technical approaches that help move emerging AI technologies quickly from development to mission-ready deployment.
