FN, a brand of FN Browning Group’s Defence & Security division, has expanded its rifle portfolio with the introduction of the FN ARKA.
The new rifle has been designed to combine the durability and mechanical systems of the FN SCAR with the ergonomic features of the AR-15, according to a release from FN on 2 June.

FN ARKA, chambered in 5.56x45mm Nato calibre, features fully ambidextrous controls such as a bolt catch, magazine release, and firing selector.
FN small arms, VP Christophe Soleil said: “FN is pleased to complement its rifle portfolio with this new AR-15-type platform that is built upon the proven performance of the FN SCAR, currently in service with over 20 armed forces worldwide.
“The FN ARKA provides equivalent levels of reliability, durability, and performance, allowing customers to select the ergonomics and architecture that best suit their preferences.”
FN is offering the new ARKA in multiple configurations, including a 14.5-inch standard barrel with a choice of short or long M-LOK handguard, and an 11.25-inch CQC barrel with a short handguard.
The rifle is available in FDE or black finishes, and buyers can choose between selective fire or semi-automatic operation. All models are compatible with AR-style buttstocks and pistol grips.
In addition, the platform is constructed with high-grade materials and includes an adjustable gas block designed to maintain performance in environments such as mud, water, or sand, according to the company.
FN said that ARKA is equipped with a flow-through suppressor intended to manage gas and reduce blowback.
The rifle is claimed to be compatible with a variety of FN and third-party accessories, and can be integrated with the company’s SMARTCORE predictive maintenance system and VICTOR marksmanship training solution.
The company plans to exhibit the new platform at the Eurosatory defence and security exhibition, which is scheduled to take place from 15 to 19 June in Paris.
