The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Ukraine has launched a detailed inspection of the Land Forces Command at the request of the Ground Forces commander major general Mykhailo Drapatyi.
The inspection, sanctioned by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, is being conducted by the Main Inspectorate to assess the organisational structure, management processes, and legislative adherence within the Land Forces.

This scrutiny is said to be crucial for an unbiased assessment of the state of affairs, which directly influences frontline conditions, Rustem Umerov said in Facebook post.
It is required for the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted Umerov.
The inspection’s objectives include improving management efficiency, promoting process transparency, and fortifying the capabilities of Ukraine’s primary military branch.
Umerov said: “Victory requires in-depth analysis of experience and an honest understanding of mistakes. This is especially relevant to the Ukrainian Land Forces, the largest and most strategically significant branch of the Armed Forces, responsible for mobilisation, training, staffing, and the combat effectiveness of units.

Ukraine MoD Main Inspectorate Deputy Inspector General Viktor Romaniuk said: “Based on the results of the inspection, changes will be implemented in the command structure and personnel policy within the Land Forces Command, management processes will be optimised, and the combat readiness of units will be enhanced with new approaches to training.”
This development follows the US Department of Defense’s confirmation of a $2.5bn security assistance package.
The package includes two components: $1.25bn from presidential drawdown authority and $1.22bn through the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative, according to Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh in a recent briefing.
Additionally, Ukraine has received €150m in aid from Denmark, France, and Lithuania to enhance its defence posture.
