The Danish Ministry of Defence, Acquisition, and Logistics Organisation (DALO) has signed a 15-year framework agreement with Swedish aerospace and defence company Saab for live training solutions.
Under the agreement, the Danish forces can place orders to procure necessary equipment for live training solutions, and set up a Mobile Exercise Control (EXCON).

Over the period, the order value may total up to $82m (DKK550m).
The use of live training solutions will enable the Danish troops to participate in realistic military drills and hone their skills.
Saab Training and Simulation business unit Åsa Thegström said: “This agreement will ensure that the Danish Army are equipped with the market leading, flexible training solutions, and required training capability.
“Our training solutions will enable them to train fully deployable at the point-of-need, and as close to reality as possible, while remaining fully interoperable with other nations.”

It also includes an option to extend the deal by five more years.
DALO Command Support deputy technical director René Ulbjerg Toft said: “This solution will enhance our training capability and secure our long-term possibility to train our forces, within as well as across borders, with our allied nations for a long time going forward.
“It will also ensure immediate feedback and integration of the various entities on the battlefield, providing exercises with full realism and maximised training effect.
“It is very important for us that the full integration and interoperability with the current vehicle systems already in use relies on the supplier of the system, enabling the full operational use domestically and abroad.”
Last month, Saab reported its sales for the full year 2021. The company recorded an 11% increase in annual sales to $4.15bn (Skr39.15bn).
